"JAMAICA RAILWAY" On Top, "STATION" After Station Name
Known Used Between March 1906 and March 1912
Black and white postcard to England dated May 5, 1906 franked with bicolor 1d Arms stamp which is tied by Ewarton railway datestamp Type S2b. Alhough only the last letter ("N") of the station name is visible, process of elimination leads one to conclude that this cover was posted at the Ewarton station. Six stations are known to have used a datestamp with "STATION" following the station name, with three of the names (Ewarton, Kingston and May Pen) ending in an "N". Of these three, Ewarton was the only station using a "STATION" type datestamp during May 1906.
