Post card from Montpelier to Kinston dated Aug. 24, 1914 with reverse giving an order for tobacco supplies. Kingston machine cancel arrival of Aug. 25 alongside.

Cover addressed to the Sandbach family, Bryngwyn, North Wales dated Nov. 12, 1914 and franked with two King George V 1d red and two ½d green Jamaica Arms adhesives and tied by three strikes of the Montpelier railway datestamp. T.P.O. and Kingston datestamps of same date plus  Bwlch-y-Ciban DE 1 14   cds arrival on reverse (move cursor over image to view). The Sandbach family owned a 4,000 acre logwood plantation in Old Hope, and most of the known Montpelier railway covers are addressed to them. Geraldine Mackeson-Sandbach inherited the plantation in 1928 at age 19 and had it sold in 1938.
