"JAMAICA RAILWAY" On Top, "STATION" Added After Station Name

Cover to Montego Bay dated Jan. 14, 1909 franked with 1d carmine Jamaica Arms adhesive and tied by a violet Old Harbour railway datestamp. Although "STATION" is not visible following the station name, datestamp is nontheless of this type based on position of the letters. The reverse shows a Montego Bay arrival datestamp of the same date where cover was redirected to Cayman Brac (move cursor over image to view). Montego Bay departure on Jan. 15 and Kingston arrival on Jan. 16 for departure to the Cayman Islands. The only known example of this type of Old Harbour railway cancel struck in violet ink.
